[ Overview ]
Coals & Branches is an open-fire restaurant in central Moscow. The cuisine concept: alternative beef cuts of rare butchery (machete, skirt, denton, flat iron) cooked over live coals from apple, oak, and cherry wood. The digital product had to reproduce the restaurant atmosphere — heat, smoke, branches, sparks — directly in the browser.

The brief.
Make a site that works as a first impression of a premium-segment restaurant. The guest should read the character — brutal, noble, craft — within seconds and take a target action: book a table or join the loyalty program. Also prepare a dynamic offers block editable by the restaurant without programmers.
[ The approach ]
How we shipped it.
- 01
Cinematic hero with three parallax layers: background coals, soft smoke, and a real-time canvas of live sparks. The headline 'Coals & Branches' appears in a high-contrast serif with a stone-carved effect. Cursor inside the hero turns into a spark with its own trail.

Animated site-wide background: two canvas-driven particle layers (global upward sparks + cursor trail). Sprite-cache rendering holds 60 fps on every device down to MacBook M1.

Interactive 'Directions': four vertical columns (Open Fire / Raw Steel / Bar & Smoke / Wine Cellar) that expand like film exhibitions on hover. Click routes to the corresponding menu section with auto-scroll.

Signature dishes carousel with horizontal scroll and snap anchors — six author positions, each card unfolds with description on hover.
